PREMIUMS COLLECTED BY INSURERS OF MOLDOVA IN 2011 EXCEED 1 BLN. LEIS, WHICH IS 9,7% MORE AS COMPARED WITH 2010

According to XPRIMM, a company, the insurance market of Moldova has increased by 10% to 61,4 mln. EUR within last year. The biggest volume of the insurance premiums fell to the Motor Third-Party Liability and made up 22,7% (228 mln. leis); it was followed by the Green Card - 18,8% (189 mln. leis). At the same time, insurance indemnifications were 334 mln. leis in 2011, that is 3,5% more as compared with 2010. The biggest indemnifications (about 43,4%) were allotted to repair damage insured on the Motor Third-Party Liability (85,95 mln. leis) and Green Card (59 mln. leis). leaders of the insurance market in 2011 were Moldasig (28,1% of premiums), Asito (15,6%) and Grawe Carat Asigurari (11,5%). 73% of the market falls to the share of 5 companies, and the first 10 companies take about 91% of the market. The information is provided with the reference to preliminary findings by the National Commission on Financial Market covering the activities of 22 companies in 2011, including the activity of Moldova-Astrovaz for 9 months of the past year).

In Q1, 2012 the sales turnover of enterprise with retail sales as their primary business line grew 4,4% in comparable prices against numbers of Q1, 2011. The sales turnover of enterprises rendering market services to population increased 18,9% as compared with the previous month and 3,4% as compared with March, 2011. In Q, 1, 2012 their turnover increased 3,7% in comparable prices as compared with Q1, 2011.

    Adjusted to inflation, it grew 4,1% in real terms. The average wage was2957,5 leis if the budget sector and 3423,6 leis in the real sector, growing 11,9% and 8,8% respectively. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the highest average salary was paid to workers of the banking sector and made 7214,8 leis(+15,6% against March, 2011).
