MONTHLY WAGES IN MOLDOVA AVERAGED 3167,7 LEIS IN OCTOBER, 2011, 10,4% UP AGAINST OCTOBER, 2010

At the same time, as compared with September, 2011, the average wages shrunk by 0,1%, the National Bureau of Statistics informs. Adjusted to inflation, real monthly wages averaged by 1,4% against October, 2010. In public sector the average wage made 2794,2 leis(+11,4% against October, 2010), with an average salary being 3329,4 leis (+10%) in the real sector of Moldova’s economy. According to NBS findings, in October, 2011 the highest wages recorded were received by workers in banking sector. They made up 6565,8 leis (+11,7% against October, 2010). In October, 2011 average wages made 4832,7 leis (+2,4%) at enterprises dealing with water, heating, electricity and gas supply, 4077,7 leis (+7,29%) at real estate companies, 3648,5 лея (+5,3%) ad transport and communication companies. The lowest wages, as before, were given to workers in fish-breeding sector and to workers of agricultural and forestry sector, being 1441,1 leis (+2%) and 2130 leis (+25,8%) respectively. Wages also remain modest in hotel and restaurant business - 2285,2 leis (+5,2%), education – 2744 leis (+17,9%), trade – 2747 leis (+15,2%). Wages in the field of health and social care made 2996,8 leis (+6,3%).

    According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the volume of industrial production declined 4,5% in March, 2012 as compared with March, 2011 The decline in industrial production was explained by 9,1% lower production in the mining industry, by 3,1% lower production in the processing industry and the 3,8% less production in the energy sector.

    According to the National Bureau of Statistics, this is 1,2% up as compared with the same period of 2011. In Q1, 2012 the sales turnover of enterprise with retail sales as their primary business line grew 4,4% in comparable prices against numbers of Q1, 2011. The sales turnover of enterprises rendering market services to population increased 18,9% as compared with the previous month and 3,4% as compared with March, 2011. In Q, 1, 2012 their turnover increased 3,7% in comparable prices as compared with Q1, 2011.

    Adjusted to inflation, it grew 4,1% in real terms. The average wage was2957,5 leis if the budget sector and 3423,6 leis in the real sector, growing 11,9% and 8,8% respectively. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the highest average salary was paid to workers of the banking sector and made 7214,8 leis(+15,6% against March, 2011).
