BIDS ARE INVITED FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF THS 93-LONG SEGMENT OF THE ROAD BETWEEN SARATENI AND SOROCA IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE COMPACT PROGRAM

This was announced by executive director of the Millennium Challenge Foundation Valentina Badrajan on Tuesday at a press conference. She also said that the tender, comprising 4 lots, is available for companies and associations from Moldova and abroad. Within two years they are to construct 302 thou. square meters of the new roadway, reconstruct the road carpet at an area of 533,78 thou. square meters and the bridges (5,29 thou. square meters). Winners of the tender are also to build bus stops and pedestrian areas, to set over 2 thou. of road signs, 13 km. of metallic banisters along the road, road lightings and traffic lights. The lots are approximately equal in their financial and technical components and include the following segments of the road: from Sarateni to the boundary between Telenesti and Floresti regions (24,2 km); through the entrance to Ghindesti (20,7 km), then through the point of intersection with the road to Redi-Ceresnovati (23,2 km) to the Drochia’s crossroad at Soroca (24,9). The winners will be announced after February, 7, 2012, and works will start in May, 2012. As director of the project on the roads rehabilitation of the Millennium Challenge Moldova Anatolie Usatii has said the USA government which is financing the Compact program is going to assign $130 mln. for the construction of a bridge over the Dniester within the framework of this project. This bridge will help decrease the traffic on the road to Atachi. In January, 2010 the authorities of Moldova and Millenium Challenge Corporation signed the agreement on the Compact program at a sum of $262 mln. This program is including 2 projects on rehabilitation of the roads and development of high effective agricultural sector.

    According to the National Bureau of Statistics, this is 1,2% up as compared with the same period of 2011. In Q1, 2012 the sales turnover of enterprise with retail sales as their primary business line grew 4,4% in comparable prices against numbers of Q1, 2011. The sales turnover of enterprises rendering market services to population increased 18,9% as compared with the previous month and 3,4% as compared with March, 2011. In Q, 1, 2012 their turnover increased 3,7% in comparable prices as compared with Q1, 2011.

  • THE AVERAGE WAGE IN THE ECONOMY OF MOLDOVA MADE UP 3273,5 LEIS IN MARCH, 2012, 9,7% UP AS COMPARED WITH MARCH, 2011

    Adjusted to inflation, it grew 4,1% in real terms. The average wage was2957,5 leis if the budget sector and 3423,6 leis in the real sector, growing 11,9% and 8,8% respectively. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the highest average salary was paid to workers of the banking sector and made 7214,8 leis(+15,6% against March, 2011).
