IN Q3, 2011, THE LIVING WAGE MADE 1386,4 LEIS P.C., 6,2% UP AS COMPARED WITH THE SAME PERIOD IN 2010

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the living wage in urban areas is 14,4% more than that in rural ones and made up 1496,5 leis. In rural areas it made up 1307,9 leis. By categories of the population, the most expensive basket of goods is for people of working age and made 1454,6 leis, costing 1523,8 leis for men of the working age. The living wage for retirees is 1206,8 leis, which is 87,1% of the average living wage. The children living wage made up 1299,4 leis, being 572,7 leis and more for children under 12 months and up to 1449 leis for 7 to 16 year-old children. In Q3, 2011 the monthly wage in economy averaged 3197,5 leis, which is 5,5% higher than in the same period in the last year. It covered the living wage for able-bodied population 2,2 times. The highest coverage of the living wage (4,4 times) was displayed in the financial sector and the lowest one was in the fish-breeding sector, which made 110,3%. In Q 3, 2011, the monthly pension averaged 873,9 leis, which is 8,0% higher than in the same period in 2010. It covered the living wage by 72,4% only.

    According to the National Bureau of Statistics, this is 1,2% up as compared with the same period of 2011. In Q1, 2012 the sales turnover of enterprise with retail sales as their primary business line grew 4,4% in comparable prices against numbers of Q1, 2011. The sales turnover of enterprises rendering market services to population increased 18,9% as compared with the previous month and 3,4% as compared with March, 2011. In Q, 1, 2012 their turnover increased 3,7% in comparable prices as compared with Q1, 2011.

    Adjusted to inflation, it grew 4,1% in real terms. The average wage was2957,5 leis if the budget sector and 3423,6 leis in the real sector, growing 11,9% and 8,8% respectively. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the highest average salary was paid to workers of the banking sector and made 7214,8 leis(+15,6% against March, 2011).
