What is your forecast for the business development in Moldova in 2012:
As the central Bank of RF informs, in 2011 remittances from Russia to Moldova via money transfer systems made $181 in Q1, $271 mln. in Q2 and $329 mln in Q3, whereas in the past year the same indicators made $137 mln., $195 mln. and $256 mln., respectively, which totaled $588 mln. within January-September of the pas year. An average sum of one remittance from Russia to Moldova made $447 in Q1, $509 in Q2, and $588 in Q3 in 2011. within the same period in 2010 these sums made $423, $473 and $581 respectively. Moldova ranks the seventh by remittances from Russia among CIS countries. In Q3 from Russia it was transferred $1,5 bln. to Uzbekistan, $1,037 to Tajikistan, $685 mln. to Ukraine, $469 mln. to Kyrgyzstan, $420 mln. to Armenia, etc. According to the National Bank of Moldova, within January-September, remittances in favor of individuals via commercial banks made $1 bln. 64,2 mln., $168 mln. (18,7%) up as compared with the same period in 2010. the biggest portion of money transferred from Russia to Moldova fell to September and was $143,38 mln, with the smallest portion falling to January and making $71,51 mln. In total, about $928,66 mln. was transferred by rapid transfer systems, which is 87,3% of the total sum of remittances within 9 months of 2011. In September, 2011 in the structure of remittances in foreign currencies about 39,8% were made in USD, 40,6% in EUR and 19,6% in RUB. Russia and Italy are leader by the size of remittances to Moldova from different countries. According to the World Bank, remittances of labor migrants of Moldova contribute 20% to 30% of the country’s GDP.
