After a brief introduction of club members and the situation in business sector, Mr. Krkoska emphasized that loans are granted to commercial banks in Moldova, with all possible facilities. Credits are meant for business development projects, which have a minimum amount of 500 thousand euros. Loan portfolio will reach a total of 340 million euros.

All projects submitted to the Office of the EBRD, will be studied and analyzed by experts of the Bank of London, after the decision on granting the credit will be taken. The second step will be to verify that the minimum conditions of future customer of RM.

Since the beginning of its activity in Moldova, the EBRD has invested over EUR 300 million through more than 55 projects in infrastructure and corporate sectors, banking and energy. The funds provided by EBRD attracted additional investments worth 235 million euros in the economy of Moldova.

Following the global economic crisis, business lending activities in Moldova have slowed considerably, limiting the access of SMEs to sources of funding and impeding their development. Funds provided by the EBRD will enable MAIB to meet the growing demand for medium and long term loans from local entrepreneurs.
